In October 2021, the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences initiated the establishment of the High-Density Scintillating Glass Research Collaboration (hereinafter referred to as the "GS Collaboration") in collaboration with Jinggangshan University, China Jiliang University, Harbin Engineering University, Beijing Glass Research Institute, and China Building Materials Academy. The GS Collaboration is dedicated to the design and fabrication of premium-quality glass scintillator with enhanced performance characteristics, while systematically exploring its potential applications in high-energy physics and nuclear physics domains.

Currently, the GS Collaboration has evolved into a robust scientific collaboration comprising six universities, four research institutes, and three industrial enterprises. Driven by the technological demands of high-energy physics, this alliance has established an integrated innovation system synergizing industrial production, academic research, and practical applications. The collaboration has strategically transitioned from fragmented tracking of research trends to organized deployment of scientific resources, implementing systematic research programs through centralized coordination of multidisciplinary expertise.
